World Ayurveda meet to be held in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A global Ayurveda Festival will be held here from February 9 to 14 next year, packaging a host of programmes from seminars to expert clinics to showcase the vast potential of the ancient Indian system of medicine and wellness and work out strategies for tapping the global market for Indian medicinal products.
Releasing the logo and borcuhre for the event here last evening, Kerala Health Minister Adoor Prakash said though Ayurveda had been recognized the world over, its global potential remained to be tapped fully.
Centre for Innovation in Sience and Social Action (CISSA) is organising the event in partnership with the state Ayurveda Department.
Besides presentation of papers and deliberations by Ayurveda experts, the six-day event would also arrange clinics run by renowned practitioners and meet of Ayurveda students.
An exhibition displaying the latest in the research and development in ayurveda, medicinal plants and herbal products, Ayurveda food fete and discussions on current industry practices and regulatory mechanisms will be some of the key features of the festival to be conducted at the Kanakakunnu Palace grounds in the city.
Professional and industry bodies like Ayurveda Medical Officers Association and Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturers Association are also collaborating with the event.
