Ayurveda camp for MLAs in Kerala

Speaker G. Karthikeyan will inaugurate an Ayurveda treatment camp for MLAs here on Wednesday. The camp is jointly organised by the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine and Oushadhi, a State government undertaking manufacturing Ayurvedic products. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Johny Nelloor, Oushadhi chairman, told a press conference here on Tuesday. Apart from MLAs, media persons reporting Assembly sessions may also attend the camp.

Mr. Nellore said that if need be more Oushadhi outlets would be opened in the district. The company had recently arranged the distribution of Oushadhi products through Vanasree outlets of the Department of Forests.

A new distribution centre would be opened at Pathanapuram in Kollam district to cater to the Thiruvananthapuram region.

Oushadhi would join hands with the Department of Tourism to open panchakarma hospitals in tourist centres to provide Ayurvedic treatment for tourists. Plans were afoot to set up a panchakarma hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, the chairman said.

Oushadhi's 'Karkidakakanji,' a medicinal gruel, would be available in the markets by July 16, he said.
