Ahmedabad, Sep 11:
Gujarat government is mulling to start a department of
panchgavya therapy in the Ayurveda university and colleges across the
state, an official of Gauseva and Gauchar Development Board (GGDB) said
here today.
“The state government is mulling to start
a department of Panchgavya therapy in Ayurveda colleges and
universities of the state,” GDDB chairman Vallabh Kathiriya told
reporters here.
Panchgavya therapy is an alternative
treatment, in which medicines made of cow milk, curd, ghee, cow urine
and cow dung are used for treating people.
The
panchgavya therapy increases immunity and prevents occurrence of
diseases, Kathiriya said adding that it is a part of ayurveda science.
A
state—level conference on panchgavya therapy will be held on Sunday at
Chharodi on the outskirts of the city, which will be inaugurated by
Minister of State for Health Parbat Patel.
“The main aim of this conference is to tell people about the alternative treatment, which is low—cost,” he said.
Research
papers will be presented in the conference, which is expected to be
attended by ayurveda doctors, research scholars, cowshed owners, experts
and other delegates.
While there is one Ayurveda University at Jamnagar in Gujarat, the number of Ayurveda colleges in the state is ten.
